Today you build a feminist dystopia and pitch it as a TV show.

Here's the rule we work by. When Margaret Atwood wrote The Handmaid's Tale, she refused to put anything in the book that hadn't already happened to a real woman somewhere. We do the same. You start from a real historical seed, push it into the near future, and build the world it becomes. None of it is invented.

Then you do the part that matters most. You imagine the way out, and write the future you would rather see.

Step 2 Brainstorm — Build the World

Before you write the pitch, sit in the world for a minute. Answer the ones that spark something. This is scaffolding for your show.

Who are the protagonists? Whose story do we follow?

Whose lives got worse in this world, and whose got better?

Who runs it, and who profits?

What does an ordinary day look like for a woman here?

What is the one rule everyone has learned never to break?

What does resistance look like, and what does it cost?

What is the news headline you are most afraid to see from this world?
